Ok, ok already!

Here are the pictures that I have got so far. We are kind of slow so that's why there isn't much progress. We have done more in the bathroom but I don't have pics of it yet. The color is Montpelier Ashlar Gray. Translation: Taupe. As you can see, we bought a square pedestal sink. I'm lovin' it.
Part of the reason we haven't got the bathroom done is because we have been putting in new windows. That was a job! I put some pics up of Kevin and my dad cutting out the old windows and one of me standing on the scaffolding. I was taking the trim off and yes, it was scary.
In other news, we got two cats. Here are some pics of them too. Their names are Gray Cat and Siamese. I'll let you guess which one is which. :)
Until next time...

Closing Day

Woohoo! Kevin and I went to the title company today and signed all the documents to close on our house. The deed will be recorded in our name tomorrow and we will officially be homeowners! We get the keys tomorrow so hopefully we will be moving this weekend after we give the house a good scrub down. (I hate to think of what the previous owners left living in the carpet.) I hate moving. This will be the fourth move we have made since we have been married. We have this giant entertainment center that Kevin's dad made us for our wedding and it is a pain to move. It weighs a ton! (That is what I am told anyway....it's not like I have ever lifted it!) During one of our moves the entertainment center decided to play nasty and fell and broke Kevin's hand. Oh sweet memories. I think this weekend is going to be fun.....

This one's for you Amber

Good day to you my one reader. I am writing to update you on the house buying process. It STINKS! Everthing was going along quite smoothly until the stupid appraiser had to stick his nose in things! Apparently, because of the current state of the market, a lot of appraisers are not appraising houses for the correct amount. They are appraising them at or only slightly above what you offered for them. This presents a problem for us because now the bank doesn't want to loan money on the house. The appraiser said it was below average market condition (It's a foreclosure...duh!) so the bank has made us run around and get bids for all the little projects that need to be done, namely drywall, tile, and windows. We finally have all the estimates. Drumroll..........only $800! That is what is holding us back from getting a house. $800! Now just waiting to see if the bank will approve the loan or not. Oh what fun. Ok. Not really.

Home Inspection

Good news! We passed our home inspection. That means our house shouldn't fall down or spring a leak anytime soon. Now on to the appraisal.....

The Jones' House

Hi Everybody! I am starting a blog to chronicle the purchase and remodel of our new house. I am posting pictures of the house in all its glory. (Don't worry, we already know it is ugly!) We are hoping to make it into a nice home for us though, so wish us luck!
